Better to let people keep entertained and hype up the nonsensical conjectures and "Mystery" than explain the more plausible reason it got there. Some guys put it there, somehow, probably without any crane, and broke rock. Must have been 4 strong men and their Jeep.

The reason why? Because when you've got curious people, they start coming like Pokemon Go players, scouring the landscape. Then whoopsies, the terrain blows out a tire in the middle of nowhere, they weren't prepared with food, and then first responders have to waste resources saving them and then coming back to retrieve their vehicles.

Just a remind of how the media informs buts makes sure to NOT EDUCATE.
You're totally correct. This story should have ended with a lesson on how to check your spare tire.

I'd rather they ask the tough questions regarding the the type of steel they used. Or if it is even steel at all.

i cannot believe this thing is still going on. this is not news.

A guy planted a VISIBLY RIVETED THEREFORE NOT EVEN A MONOLITH chunk of steel in the ground and people are going (pun intended) ape shit over it. Why are you like this?

Are you saying the lizard people don't have riveting technology?

So essentially, the Utah authorities posted a glorified classified ad.

"free monolith in the remote desert. You haul. Do not disturb the nearby animal residents living there. First come first serve. Metal unknown. Likely 1075 steel. I just want it gone. Very heavy, bring a helper or two. You will need a big truck. Thanks".

Either, it's a tie-in for a new Netflix series or Hollywood movie, or maybe the source of new conspiracy-theories...

or maybe it's just a really-big corner lot-marker.
