Mono sucks.

Yeah, for a little while. I turned on my cd player in my car and out came the lamest sounds. Turns out someone had set it on mono. Yeah, mono sucks.

I had it over christmas break my senior year in HS. It knocked me out, big time. Try to keep your fluids up, get lots of rest. Maybe subscribe to Netflix, or Blockbuster free month trial b/c you won't be doing much of anything for a while. I was sick for 2 weeks, lost about 15 pounds, and was weak for about 2 or 3 weeks after that. I figure it was at least 2-3 months before I felt 100% again.

People are making terrible assumptions. You don't have to have direct oral contact with someone to contract mononucleosis(sp?). You just need to be in close proximity to someone; aka: sitting beside someone in class. At least, that's how I got it.

I thought itwas fluid contact (usually spit)

It has a much higer infection rate that way, but like stated before, you can get it from just being in close contact.

When I was in school, almost all the cheerleaders got it because one of them got around a lot (confirming to new name calling rules for females) and several of them was drinking from her water bottle and bam.......like 75% came down with it.

or sharing a drink, or someone sneezing/coughing on you. plus a carrier of mono doesnt necessarily have symptoms. They can go their whole life without knowing they have mono.
