In my quest to try to get triple monitors to work, I'm trying to get synergy to work on a secondary machine as Linux can't seem to do triple monitors on it's own very well. On the secondary machine I'm going to run dual monitor and I'm hoping synergy supports splitting so the server monitor can be in the middle. I read that it can, but I'm not there yet, because I keep getting an error that it can't load the secondary screen so synergy wont even load.
When I go in the X configuration utility, both monitors show up as disabled. I can select separate X session, and once I select that, I can then do twinview. If I save the xorg.conf file (half the time it just errors out, so I need to try multiple times) it just reverts back to disabled again next boot. The apply button is also grayed out.
Any way to get this to work? I suspect it may be the reason synergy is not wanting to load. What's odd is that the config changes I make do work, but in the utility it shows disabled and can't even apply changes.
Using Xubuntu. (not sure what version, but whatever was the latest several months ago)
