Monitors dont work properly with my computer

Okay. So basically I bought a new computer a few months ago however it suffered for horizontal

"blurriness" for lack of a better word. I tried automatic adjustments and manuals ones with no

result, I tried using another monitor and not noticing any immediate issues (however that is

not the case on closer inspection) I assumed to monitor was the fault. Now I've bought a new

monitor and see similar artifacts, ghosting horizontally, pixel sync issues and the picture not being aligned properly with the screen. Pressing Auto-adjust makes things much worse though.

I've tried updating my drivers and Vista. I've also since replaced my graphics card (from an Nvidia 6400 to a 8800GT) and bought a longer VGA cable (non of my my monitors support DVI and I cant really afford another).

I'm using a Zoostorm PC (G31 VP series M7, a pre-built system so I'm not sure on alot of the components)
Vista Home Premium 32-bit OEM version (service pack 1)
3gb of RAM
Intel Core2 Quad (Q6600 @ 2.4GHz)
Foxconn motherboard according to the leaflet I got with the PC.

I'm really hoping the motherboard isnt the issue though as I would not know how to replace it.
I'm hoping this is just a software issue with my system that can be fixed but it seems more and more unlikely.

I'd be really thankful for any help or advice you guys can give me!

My sense is that the problem is running monitors with no DVI. The analog VGA port just is not as sharp and clear as digital. When you bought a new monitor, why would you buy one w/o a DVI port?

Jordan,

Welcome to the Forums!

What monitor are you currently using and at what resolution?
And, as Corky says, if you purchased a Brand New monitor without a DVI input, can you return it for one with a DVI?

To be honest I bought it because it was very cheap for a 22" monitor.
(All the monitors have different native resolutions)

It works fine on another computer which is a bit of a slap in the face, for that reason I'm really not willing to just replace it unless I manage to test a DVI monitor with my computer to see if that even fixes the problem.

This is just not true. Even on a 24" lcd at 1920x1200 vga is indistinguishable from dvi. I have personally seen the comparison.

I would suggest picking up a cheap pci-e video card.
