monitors and brightness/contrast

ok, i have 2 monitors that, are very dark, but contrast and brightness are all the way up, any way i can fix this?
 
This is the classic symptom of a tired tube. Sometimes you will find an internal brightness control but it will usually only work for a short while. Back in the old TV days you could get a tube brightner for some tubes but it too was only a temporary fix. It looks like it's time to shell out the big bucks.
