If you aren't expecting anything special from this monitor then go for it.. However, I will warn you now, it's a REAL cheapo POS, but what did you expect for $150 when it comes to 19 inchers.. LOL.. :)

Monitors for me are a personal choice. What my eyes see/take in might be better or worse than what someone else sees . Having said that I feel that you should go in person to a real store and check out what they have in stock.OD and OM used to carry those,Sams also. That kds might look good, real good enough for you.I use an Envision 19,it too isnt the most expensive monitor available, but way good enough to come here, check email,do mls, ect.

I have heard fairly good things about the KDS XtremeFlat Monitors. I guess for a bargain priced monitor they are okay, but in my opinion, if you are going to be looking at something for hours at a time, it should be good quality, and you should not go for the cheapest, but instead the best quality should be at the top of your list. That is just my opinion though. Like I said, I have heard they are okay though.

I too had an Envision monitor and found it to be a pretty high quality for a cheapo monitor, but I wanted something better, so I got a Viewsonic, and it is noticably better in quality.

I bought one of those and ended up taking it back and settling on a 17in sony trinitron. The KDS had geometry problems on 2 different ones, and finally I got sick of it and decided I would have a smaller, yet higher quality monitor.

This will be my only monitor (right now i'm using a borrowed AOC Spectrum which I CANNOT take much longer)
So judging from the general feedback, this monitor was not worth it since I would be using it extensively (for everything)
So what do you suggest?
My problem is that I plan on graduating next year and when if I start working I'd be able to afford a really good monitor so i just needed something to carry me through the next couple of months

EDIT: Dell has the SAMSUNG - SyncMaster 950b Monitor for $152 and the VIEWSONIC - E90 19-inch CRT Monitor for $170
What about these? (preferably the syncmaster based on price but i'm not opposed to buying the viewsonic if it is worth it)

the last 2 you listed are good brands, I love my Samsung, and Viewsonic is good as well... I'd say either of those would be safe...

Samsung Syncmaster (19 inch flat crt)

its no where near the top of the line.. but wow i have zero complaints for 199$.

Good color
Great sharpness
Good refresh rates
Great res.

etc etc..

and you can either get the black/silver model or the white.

hope that helped
