Monitor worth checking

I have a 17" Digiview monitor that has been trouble since I bought it. The last time I received it back from the shop I felt they got it right, it was working very good. The other morning when starting my system I noticed no amber or green light (nothing). Before I scrap this is there a possible fuse or something that I can check. I never opened a monitor and not all that thrilled about doing it but if there is a simple fix I will. Thanks for your advice:disgust:
