This Portrait Display Labs 1700 monitor was made around 1995. I like it because it swivels between portrait and landscape and you can set it up to fill the whole screen with no black edges and make other adjustments.
There have been times over the years when it just went black and I thought it was dead. Now it works for a while, then I hear a click and it goes black but the light stays green or flashes green. When I turn it off and try later, it works again. I'd like to use it in a dual monitor setup till it gives out completely, but I'm wondering if there could be something dangerous going on, say, that could cause a fire.
Does it sound like it would be OK to keep using it?
