Monitor won't go into standby - HD 5770

Hi guys,

My SFF computer (see signature) is hooked up to a Dell 2408WFP via HDMI. Windows 7 is set to turn the monitor off after 10 minutes, and when it does, the monitor displays a floating "no cable" message rather than going into standby. I'm using catalyst 10.7 (fresh install of Windows), and the monitor has no problem going into standby when hooked to my other desktop.

Is this a known issue and is there a fix?

Hmm. I really don't want to dig out a DVI cable. Would DisplayPort work better?

That I don't know since I don't have a screen with a DP...

I had the same issue with a HANNS-G monitor. Win7 sees it as an HDTV and not a monitor.

There is a registry fix for it. Read this thread and apply the reg fix. It works.

Not sure if this is applicable, but check in the power management setting of your BIOS. There should be some options (control selections) for managing how the display is put into standby.
