I just got an ATI 9600. When I set the resolution to 1600x1200, the screen will only show parts of my desktop at a time. It makes me scroll around to see everything.

I have a 19" Samsung SyncMaster 955DF so it is suppose to be able to display 1600x1200

I also have a problem with my TV-out:
I don't have a TV or another other monitors hooked up to my computer. But when I'm in the display properties, 2 monitor show up. I don't know how to get rid of it.

It seems to me there's a section of the ATI control panel where you can adjust the max resolution it will display on the monitor, as well as the max resolution that the computer is set to use. I wish I remembered the names. Either way, there should be two sliders, make sure they're the same (1600x1200).

If you right click on the desktop, select Properties, then Settings tab, Advanced Button, Displays tab. Click on the Monitor box and you have the DDC Information checkbox. If you uncheck this, you can select whatever max resolution and refresh rate you want, but be careful b/c if you turn it too high, you may damage your monitor. I appear to be having similar problems in this post but I also have a Samsung Syncmaster which clearly states 1600x1200@68hz on Samsungs website yet the DDC is set to 1280x1024. Makes no sense to me.

When I goy my SyncMaster 955DF I had the same problem with my 9600 Pro, but the DCC was the real problem, I just disabled it and put the resolution I want.
