Do LCD monitors need to be registered to claim manufacturer warranty? I'm about to sell an almost 2 year old LCD on Ebay that is supposed to have a 3 year warranty - but I am not sure if it will still have 1 year left on it to the new owner because I never registered it?

Newb question, but do they need be registered like video cards to claim any kind of warranty, or do video cards only need be registered to claim "life-time" warranty?

Thanks!

Any item that has a warranty must be registered. Otherwise the company has no record of you owning the item or for how long you have owned it. Thats why they come with mail in warenty cards or a website to register the item at.

no i don;'t think you have to register. registration was optional for my samsung. they said i'd get 3 months more if i register not that my warranty would be void.

also the company donsn't need a record of you owning it. jst keep the recipt handy.

Yeah, I never understood the registering part.

The important thing is that I have a receipt that shows the date I bought the item.

You don't need to register with most products. They only want the receipt, if even that.
