Monitor/Video Card Problems

Okay, this might get a little long winded, but I am rather stumped over my current video problem. I recently installed a Gigabyte Radeon X800 XT in my system, and I have noticed that I have some geometry problems with my monitor. I am not sure if this is a result of the card or my monitor. I have had the Sylvania CRT for about five years. It is 19", and I have never had problem one with it. I have been through at least half a dozen video cards, and never had an issue. Okay. I have noticed the geometry problems, but there is also this intermittent flickering I get, usually in Windows, especially if I am going into my display properties. I thought it might be a problem with anti-aliasing, so I unchecked the box in Catalyst Control Center for antialiasing. Well, this sort of corrected the problem, except that insted of flickering lines toward the top of the monitor, they were now at the bottom. Oh well, I can live with this. I have not really noticed any of these flickers inside of games, so I can't complain.

This brings me to my real problem, which is the geometry issue. I have tweaked, tweaked, and tweaked some more with the monitor OSD, and I can't get a straight picture. Dialog boxes, menu bars, etc. are no longer straight. They have a bowed look to them. In other words, a square is beginning to look more like a trapezoid than a square. Like I said, I have messed with the settings for a couple of days now, and I can't figure it out. Okay, my question to the experts here is if the problem is in the monitor or new grpahics card. Is the geometry problem a sign that the monitor is dying? I have no corruption or color problems.....just the geometry messing up. I am sure all of you can appreciate how frustrating this is, especially after waiting for as long as I did for thet Radeon X800 XT P.E. I was thinking about upgrading to a 21" monitor anyhow, so that's not a big deal, but if it is the vid card, I need to get it replaced. I appreciate everyone's assistance. Ciao.
