Monitor/video card issues...

Basically this is whats going on, I rebooted and when it booted up at my normal 1280x960 for some reason it was huge, so I figured the resolution had changed on me or something. So I checked that and it was still 1280x960 like normal...but the screen was huge, so huge I couldnt see everything, so say for instance it was huge up high and I couldnt see the taskbar, move the mouse down to the bottom and the screen moves. I have no idea what happened or how to fix it, but ALL other resolutions/refresh rates seem fine, but 1280x960 is just messed up...help anyone?

Compaq P900 19" Monitor normally at 100hz
Radeon 9600Pro

First time I've EVER seen a problem like this.

Check the settings in the ATi control panel type stuff. If the screen scrolls then it's set up as a "virtual" screen size, running probably at something like 640x480 with a virtual size of 1280x960.

One other thing I have noticed, under Advanced in Displays, if I switch from any resolution to any other it will show the correct resolution and refresh rate under the monitor picture...however if I switch from say...1152 to 1280 then go look...it still shows 1152 @ 100hz as the refresh rate and resolution.

Maybe your monitor's .inf file got corrupted, so that the system thinks it can't handle that resolution. Can you get fresh drivers for your monitor?
