I run a dual monitor system and my case sits on my desktop. The cord on my main monitor will reach but my secondary monitor has a shorter VGA cable coming out of the back and it uses the VGA -> DVI converter to pop into my DVI port. I dont want to change the way its set up but I do wish to leave my monitor as is and be able to hook it up to my pc.

Is there any sort of extension cord that will attach to the normal VGA cable on my VGA monitor and connect either directly to a DVI port or go through a VGA -> DVI connector?

UK Students aren't rich so unfortunately even though the monitor in question is pretty horrendous, I cant afford to get a new one.... Second-hand isnt something which I trust either.

Thanks for any advice.

Yeah, they sell monitor extension cables...you should be able to pick one up at your local technology store. I do have to warn you some monitors don't take kindly to extension cables and the text might appear blurry.

If you're going to use it on a CRT, I'd suggest you buy a cable with the magnets on both ends to reduce interference. If you're going to use it on an LCD, the text might be blurry regardless of what kind of cable you get.
