Hello there

For no reason in particular, I was wondering whether it is worth upgrading monitor, mainly because I am considering a bigger monitor for more gaming immersion. I have a few questions if anyone has the time.

Current monitor I believe is this:

23inch LG monitor, runs 1920x1080 at 60hz.

1. If i get a bigger monitor, that is 1920x1080 still, will the quality appear worse, as obviously the pixels are spread over a greater size? Noticeably?

2. I don't know much about this, but will getting a monitor with more than 60Hz be worthwhile to do also, will this noticeably contribute to gaming?

3. If i get anew monitor than can actually handle higher resolutions than 1080p which I understand will cost a fair bit more will I need to immediately upgrade my stock 2500k and 770 gpu, what % decrease in performance would greater res give roughly?

Monitor stuff is usually posted in the video cards and graphics section. But to answer your questions:

1) 24" is usually the largest size tolerable for 1080p, larger than that and you will have noticeable pixelation (although some people don't mind it). if you go 26" or larger I very much recomend getting 1440p as the large pixel density increase is very noticeable improvement, even if you have to lower other graphics settings to compensate.

2) Yes, especially for action/FPS games. I would highly recommend getting a G-sync monitor.

3) 1440p is definately more demanding than 1080p, but MSAA is not needed as much and you can always turn detail settings down or downscale the resolution. A 770 should be adequate for most new games at mediumish settings.
