Monitor turning red...

OK, recently my montior has had a very red hue to it. Every once in a while, it goes even redder, and I found that smacking it fixes this problem temporarily.

Anyone know what the problem is?? Is my monitor on it's last leg of life??
 
Sounds like it. Same thing started happening to my 3rd crt about 9 months ago and it still works, but led me to ordering a 2001 fp =)

Started off with a red tint, then the brightness increased to about 3x normal, then 15 horizontal lines appeared, and finally the monitor needs to run about 30 mins to "warm up" or it'll turn itself off if you open any sort of window. hehe
 
My cousin's monitor loses the green color sometimes... Unless if you have a crimped monitor cable, there's probably not much you can do for it. 🙁
 
so, no hope for the monitor eh...sad times!!

Good thing he's using a dual monitor setup. Of course, his 2nd monitor is 15". Looks like he'll have a Christman gift request 😛
