Monitor troubles

I have a CTX VL950S monitor. I've had it for years, and for a while now, Everytime I fullscreen or make an application that uses bright colors like white, larger, the screen will get darker and faded. The OnScreen Display still has the white at fullbright white, but every other color white turns into an off white greyish color. Is there a way to stop this, or is it the monitor? I'm not sure why the OSD can do fullbright though while the rest of the monitor does not. I also cannot get true black, it comes in as a darker greyish instead. Anyone know what causes this and how to fix it ? Or am I gonna have to spend cash for a new monitor ?

Is there a temperature setting that you can adjust on the monitor?

Yes, but it's maxed out for for RGB (user configurable temp) rather than using 9300, 7500, or 6500.

Make sure your monitor is running at a supported resolution and frequency.
