I figured this forum would be appropriate for this. I have a Viewsonic P775. It lists certain modes and what the recommended polarity is for the horizontal and vertical synchronizing signal is. But other than the 5 or so listed, how do I know what's correct and what's not? It only lists up to 1280x1024 @ 75 Hz (vertical), where it says both should be positive. There's a couple notes at the bottom of that page, one of 'em saying "the polairty of their synchronizing signals must be the same". Alright, so who has the technical explanation behind this? Should I use positive or negative? Or what should I look for when switching between the two? I hope I'm not breaking anything running the "wrong" polarity...
Thanks!
Also, under the same tab (in my ATI tools), it says Synchronization, where I can select positive or negative. But under that, there's another option that says "composite". What do I do with that? From tinkering with it, everything seems to work okay....even with one positive and one negative....so what's the correct setting? Oh, and I'm running a DB15 to a 5 BNC cable....if that matters.
