Monitor Swiveling

A question for the monitor experts: I'm thinking of obtaining one of the monitors that can be swiveled, primarily for displaying documents in something rather closer to their actual form(shoving an 8.5x11 document onto a 4:3 14.1 inch screen is beginning to get on my nerves) and secondarily for general page viewing, Xterm use, etc. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with monitors of this sort? I'm looking for something as cheap as possible without being ghastly(I'm not going to be using this for serious graphics; but I'd rather not spend my days staring into a dozen stuck pixels) Anyone have any recomendations on hardware that does this most elegantly(base properly designed, cables not too annoying, etc.), and what software(for Windows) and X configurations(for *nix/BSD) would accomplish such a goal most effectively?
