Monitor starting to die?

I got this 5yr old GVC 15" monitor but lately most of the time the screen goes from being centered and sized right to about a 1/2 inch border on each side. Changing to settings to set that doesn't work because it can just change back. It's not warming up or anything because it's never done that before. I think it's just getting old and might die since it was used quite heavily for about 4 years (and I wrecked my eyes using it at 1024x768@60hz for those years! 🙁). Argh that's no good I was hoping to sell my old computer but who wnats a monitor like that?
 
i reply to yours since you did to mine.. haha 😀 5 years.. it may be getting old.. change resolution and may-b the refreh rate and try that.. good lcuk
