i have a viewsonic ve710b monitor connected to an asus en/6600 video card and sometimes when i start my computer my monitor's led light changes from amber to green to dimmed green and then off the monitor eventurally turn on after a while. i have tried the monitor on a friend's computer and its working fine. so should i replace my video card or is there some way i can fix this.

Does your monitor's power cable connect to the computer's power supply unit, or the mains socket? If it connects to your PSU, there might not be enough power for it.

Check Power Options in Control Panel and make sure it isn't turning off after a certain amount of time.

Also, check that your graphics card is properly fitted.

make sure that all plugs are snug where they should be, i had a similar problem earlier today, that fixed it right up
