I recently purchased parts to put together a new system and I am in need of help selecting a good monitor. I am pretty limited on what I can get though. I am looking for a 22" monitor but it has to be from Best Buy so that I can use some gift cards I have from there.

My video card is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814161178

I also have a video capture card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...p?Item=N82E16815129006

Based on those two cards which monitor at Best Buy would be the best choice?

These are the monitors Best Buy has:

Acer - 22" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD HD Monitor
Model: P221WBD SKU: 8470282 $299.99

Samsung - 22" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD Monitor - High-Gloss Black
Model: 226CW SKU: 8400456 $329.99

Velocity Micro - 22" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD Monitor

Thanks in advance,

I think the best one of these would be the Samsung 226CW if it comes with the S panel. It's the upgraded version of the excellent 226BW which only lacked color accuracy. Now that's more or less ok with the extended gamut (92% NTSC) of the 226CW, I think its the best 22" at the moment.

Thanks for the advice. I couldn't find that monitor at the store but I did find a Samsung 2232BW. So far it works great. I can't wait until next week when I get my new computer with a better graphic card in it to really enjoy it.

don't you enjoy it already, cuz I don't think there will be a significant difference, apart for gaming (play at native resolution)

LG - 22" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD Monitor Model: L226WTQ-BF SKU: 8357379 $329.99 or the HP - 22" Widescreen Flat-Panel TFT-LCD Monitor Model: w2207 SKU: 8294035 $359.99, I've heard those two are the best mainstream 22" at the moment. There's also the 226CW, read above ^

Do not get the 226CW. It has over saturated colors and horrible input lag by many reviews. see here.

If you want a Samsung the 2232BW is good. I just got one and love it. Already tested with UT3 and works just as good as my old smaller 2ms lcd.

I have to say the HP W2207, but then again I'm a little biased because I own it.

Didn't know that. I thought it has the same panel with WCCFLs for the wide gamut but it seems it has issues with colors (like many wide gamut models) and is more difficult to calibrate. The HP is wide gamut too but I've heard it's a nice unit.
