Hi,
Just hooked up my new monitor.( 19" Viewsonic PF790 )
What would be the best ( true ) resolution to run this at?

Thanks,

Mort, while I am sure your monitor will run resolutions that will make you want to break out a pair of reading glasses, you will be limited to the max resolution that your video card supports. I am using a G400 @ 1280x1024 and for my preference, it is just fine. Anything higher and I am not comfortable looking at the monitor. In the end, video card allowing, personal preference will dictate what you use. Hope this helps.

I agree, 1280x1024 seems to be a really good 19 incher resolution, (with refresh of at least 75HZ is nice)

My roomate runs his 19 inch @ 1600x1200 and i have to admit it's difficult to see well

1280x1024 is a slightly distorted aspect ratio. 640x480, 800x600, or 1024x768 are all 4:3 ratios, so if you should use 1280x960 instead of 1280x1024 (5:4).

And turn up the refresh rate as high as possible for the best picture.
