Monitor Resolution Making Desktop Scroll

I have an 22" AOC 2217v monitor and an Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT video card. Whenever I set the resolution to anything higher than 1680 x 1050 (1920 x 1080 for example) I would have to scroll the desktop to see more of it. What do I need to do so I could go to a higher res without scrolling the desktop? Thanks.

Your monitor maxes at that yes. Get a 1080p monitor.

Your monitor supports max 1680x1050, so if you want higher resolution you need monitor that can display it.

You guys are right. It maxes out at 1680x1050. figured since i could select it in settings it could go that high. doh. thanks
