75Hz is considered optimal. Anything above that is just that much better, of course.

Us geeks tend to go fr 85Hz or better, though.

If you use CRT monitor - anything above 85. For LCD monitor you are locked in 60Mhz

I use 100 Hz (1280x1024) on my 22" Samsung. That way I don't get any interference when the TV next to it is turned on.

I do 100 whenever I can. 85 just doesn't cut it for me, I can notice the flicker and it gives me headaches.

I used to be 65Hz vs. 85Hz but since I got a 9800 pro I'm able to go to 100Hz. I seriously don't notice a difference between any of them. (don't wear glasses)

75hz + for me... if it's set at 60hz, my eyes bug out because I can see the scanning.

ditto. but dont put it up to much...it might mess up the monitor. i suggest start at 70Hz and go up in steps...and stop at the highest refresh rate your monitor will still display

Anybody have suggestions on a good affordable vidcard that can do 1600x1200 at 85h or above? My monitor can handle it but my 128mb GeForce3 Ti200 can't :(
