Hello I have a Viewsonic E790 19inch monitor. It says that it can do 75hz at 1600x1200. When i try it at that, only the horizontal refresh rate is at 75hz. The vertical is still only at 60hz. I can use the ATI drivers to up the vertical refresh to 75, but that increases the horizontal to like 94hz. Is it ok to run my monitor at this? Ideally I would like to run my monitor at 85hz at 1600x1200. In which case the horizontal refresh would prolly be over 100hz. What will happen? THe monitor appears to do fine running it at 75+94hz but am i doing long term damage?
Thanks

Only the vertical refresh rate of 75Hz matters you horizontal refresh rate would be 94 KHz not Hz which is based on your resolution mostly, I think, and you cannot change it.

You are perfectly fine and only doing 75 Hz at spec. As far as running out of spec, I have run some monitors out of spec, sometimes they just can't display anything, and sometimes I get a picture that looks more like flickering 60 Hz so no success either way.
