Hey Guys,

Alright so I've decided that I want a 24inch monitor, mainly used for gaming. Right now I'm running a 4870 so I should be okay as far as performance goes. I do have a few questions though. Most 24inch monitors run in 1920x1200 resolution. I was wondering if say I needed faster frame rates in certain games, if I'd be able to run 1680x1050 on the same monitor, and would the image quality suffer greatly? I've read the sticky and I've kind of decided on which two monitors to go with. my choices are:

Samsung SyncMaster 2443BW

or

BenQ G2400WD

The Samsung is cheaper, even more so because a buddy can get an employee discount. i've used Samsung products in the past and they were decent. No HDMI input though. I'm not too familiar with the BenQ so I don't know what to think of them, but it is recommended in the stickie for gaming.

I guess I should mention I'm coming from an LG Flatron 20inch, I'm at work so I can't really get the model number of it right now. Anyway what do you guys suggest? I don't NEED a new monitor, but I'd like one, hence me looking at the cheaper products. Thanks in advance for anyone's time.

Check The LCD Thread sticky - I know it mentions that specific BenQ model, and should have similar Samsung models.

The short: BenQ is cheaper, but their products tend to be fairly good. Samsung is a top-quality big name brand. The products should usually cost slightly more, but are a definite step up for an electronics conoisseur. :)
