Monitor recommendations 24-26in

Paratus

My 24in 19x12 Hp IPS display died today. I want to replace it with something equal or better. I'm thinking something in the 2560x1440 24in - 26 in size would be a step up. I'm limited in desk space so much larger probably won't work.

I'd want an IPS display with good color calibration as my wife does some photography on it. I do game occasionally with the rig in my sig. I can continue to make due with 60hz.

Anyone have some recommendations for quality displays?

Thanks!

You can fit 26" but not 27"? For $400, might as well get the 27".

All prices from Newegg

25" AHIPS 1440p options:
ASUS PB258Q $275
ASUS MX25AQ $350
Acer H257HU $365
Dell U2515H $400

Fairly certain all the above use the same LG.Display LM250WQ1-SSA1 AH-IPS Panel.

At 27" your options:
Dell U2715H $469
ASUS PB278Q $419
ASUS MX27AQ $469

And other older. less responsive IPS 1440p panels. You could always take a look at the korean models too.

I'll check out the other models using that panel. Thanks!

What would be the benefits of the same resolution in a larger format? I guess text size will be easier to read.

If I tried any larger I'd kind of want to go 4K.

I really wasn't ready get a new monitor. I wanted to wait another year or two until 4K was cheaper and more mainstream. I don't want to go back to 19x12 since I've had that for the last 7 years. (We also had our DSLR and lawn mower die in the last month. So I really wasn't looking to spend another several hundred bucks or more right now.) Really bad timing.

I would scoop that ASUS PB258Q up then, $125 cheaper than the dell for the same panel. If for some reason the monitor is defective, just RMA it and get a new one.

I've personally been pretty interested in the Samsung U24E590D. It is a 23.6" 3840x2160 PLS panel. Looks pretty sweet. It's advertised at $399 but I don't think it has hit retailers yet (maybe not US stores?). Here's a review if you're interested, albeit not a quality review.

I ended up going for the dell. I found it on Amazion for 360 and free prime shipping. Plus I had some Amazon credit laying around.

I actually came close to ordering a 4K. Local Frys electronics had an Asus 27 model for $699. I decided the pain in the ass of updating to Win10 and dealing with my rig struggling at native resolution until i rebuild it wasn't worth it right now. I can get a 4K or 5K monitor in another couple of years.
