It's a pretty good lcd for that price I've heard. The only thing that bugged me is the 1 year warranty. The other monitor that was onsale from Outpost was the Hyundai 17" lcd which was 279$ (+tax&15$shipping). That one had almost the same features but had 3 years warranty (3 dead pixel RMA program). Both of these monitors don't include DVI.

Then amazon had the benq fp737 17"lcd this Monday which went for 333$ that had DVI. Now that was pretty good until you see that it was using the 16ms panel that was not truly 16.7 M colors (24 bit). They also carried the benq fp951 19" lcd for 503$ total which is 25ms but 16.7M colors. The Benq's carry 3 year warranties according to the info provided by Newegg with some Hot-Swap program during the first year. (7 dead pixel RMA or 3/sq.inch)

Now dell has that 2001 fp for 719$ (before taxes).

So as you can see, yes prices will eventually drop within the next year or so but you got to ask yourself if you are willing to wait 6months to a year for the price drop. Let's say if it drops to 250$ next year was that extra 50$ worth it depending on your current need?

Now I have to decide whether to upgrade from the 19" benq to the 20" dell for 274$ more...
