In control panel it has monitor settings, 60hz - 85hz when 'Hide modes that this monitor cannot display' is checked, is it still safe to set it at 85? is there any damage that can be done to doing that?

Also, does anyone uncheck this box and set it to higher values?

Well just about everyone with a CRT will set their screens to ast LEAST 75Hz. There is no harm done to your monitor when setting it to 85Hz unless you have a REALLY bad monitor (One that we have is a 17" from 1997 and it does 1024x768 @ 85Hz effortlessly). Personally I think you should set it to at least 75Hz because 60Hz will hurt your eyes. Even if you can't see the refresh, it will still hurt your eyes and looking at it too long can also give you some pretty irritating headaches.

I'm an idiot, forgot to install the driver of my Iiyama VM pro 454. Now the list is from 60hz - 120hz, should I choose 120?

Edit: Youre right about it giving me a headache, I was on the computer for a couple hours last night and felt dizzy afterwards :)

You should start out at 60, if that gives you a headache or eyestrain, bump it up to the next refresh rate, don't go straight to the highest unless you need to. Higher refresh rates lower the monitors life.

Hey you're not an idiot - you just did something stupid - there's a difference.

I am also a proud owner of a VM Pro 454 and am currently running 1152x864x32bitx100Hz. I can't see any difference over 85Hz personally buut like the idea of running higher. 100Hz is good enough for me though.

I could obviously run at a much higher resolution but am personally very happy running 1152x864 and don't like squinting to look at higher resolutions. Also my ATI 9500 Pro is very happy running games at this res.

Does your monitor give off an anoying buzz from the rear. I noticed mine after spending load of money and effort making my PC sound quiet and am now frustrated by the noise it gives off. Is it just mine or is yours noisy?

Hi cotwold, mine isn't noisy at all, for a second I thought it was until I turned my sub-woofer off and that cut some of the humming. I can't hear the buzzing from the monitor unless I attach my head beside/behind it, other than that I can't notice the noise at all.

Since you mentioned you have an ATi card I have a small question :)
I have a Sapphire 9700NP, and I installed the drivers from the CD it came with, now I want to install the latest catalyst and control panel, I have to uninstall the old ones right? Do I unistall them by display > settings > advanced > adapter > properties > driver > uninstall? or is there another way to do this?
