Monitor question (please read)...

I recently bought a refurbished monitor (19" IBM G96) over the internet, and when I received it, it did not work. I could turn it on, but there was no *zonk* of degaussing, and also no picture showed up on the screen. That was last week. Every day since then I plugged it in, just to see if it would work. Eventually it started making the degaussing noise, but still no picture showed up on the screen. Then, today for no apparent reason, it worked; the screen came up just as it should. Does anyone know what could have caused this? Or know if there's a chance that the monitor could revert to its former state (i.e. not functioning)? Is there any way to test the stability of the monitor? Any information you can give will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Maybe the monitor capacitors were discharged, and you slowly chargd them up 🙂

Look for Jim the cornerstone guy. He knows all.
