Monitor question:Is it worth?

Ok i have read many reviews and the recent questions about LCD monitors, and i think i have a pretty good idea about the adv/disad of them.
I own a Nokia 447xpro 17'' monitor with 16x12 max rslution, from which i'm really really satisfied all these years.
To your opinion does it really worth to change it for an LCD?
I hav to say that i luv playin at high rslutions when that's possible, and it's quite amazing doin that 16x12 on a 17'' monitor.
Exceptional graphin detail...So do u think that i would be satisfied with a top LCD?
Thankz in advance for the feedback ppl.

I prefer LCDs myself because I like the softer feel and generally sharper text. The lack of bulk and much lower heat output is a huge plus as well.

My good friend prefers CRTs because they display a brighter, more vibrant picture. It also draws frames faster than LCDs.

So it depends on how you think.

And you use 1600x1200 on a 17"??? It's too small for me on even a 19" 😀

But my answer is yes, it's worth it.

Luv seein so good rslution at such a small monitor!! Amazing Graphic detail man!!!🙂

I've got the 21" version Nokia 445xpro (something like that 😵)

I would definetly say that some of my Gateway and Dell LCDs are sharper and notice little to no ghosting on them.

Pictures are much more vibrant and colorful as well.

We could also use some more help... Like, what do you plan on doing with it? I won't go to LCD for a few reasons:

- I can't justify the cost to replace both my current CRT displays with comparibly sized LCDs (current 19" and 17") (I have become a snob. I refuse to run my own PC without two displays so that's a hefty bill).
- I do a lot with graphics, and I find color is much better on my CRT.
- I also like the high resolutions provided by my CRTs
- I can't justify the cost to replace my current CRTs

I like my LCD because i can use it all night long till practacly 8AM and not have eyestrain like i would on my 19in crt.

When i edit photos though, the LCD is crap compared to my 1600x1200@85hz CRT

As I said in the beginning I play a lot and I like high rslutions like16x12.
I also do a lot of 3dgraphics BUT...
lately i hav noticed that i might hav problems with my vision in the future, that's why i'm mostly thinkin of an LCD.
But if i'm to sacrifice all the others just for that then i'm reluctant to go for a LCD.

Will LCD make it less strenous for your eyes, cause I sit in front of the monitor at work and at home like 18 hours aday... I have to lower the contrast to 60 or so, will LCD with its high contrast rate better for your eyes?
