I'm 99% sure my monitor is bad, but I thought maybe somebody could tell me otherwise before I fork over the cash for a new one. Here's the deal: When I turn on my computer everything works just fine for about ten to fifteen minutes. Then, out of nowhere, I hear the "click" like when you change resolutions and the horizontal size of my screen gets smaller by about 1.5" - 2" (about 3/4" to 1" on each side) with black vertical bars on each side of the monitor. When this happens I have to use the toggle on the front of the monitor and adjust the horizontal stretch control to just a hair under full on the bar scale. Anyway, after about another ten or twenty minutes it will "click" again and this time the screen will stretch beyond the size of the monitor and I'll have to re-adjust the settings back to the mid point of the scale. After a couple times doing this it finally stops and I'm on the almost full side of the scale so when I turn my computer back on the next day I have to re-size it down to normal. Very annoying. This whole time the display size in my display properties is set at 1280x1024 and does not change. Also, when this happens my refresh rate changes by about 1 Khz. Sooooo.... Is my monitor shot or is there something I can do to fix it? TIA.
