monitor problems...fuse maybe?

monitor doesn't power up when plug to power outlet. i narrowed it to a fuse being blown, would u guys think so?

Why don't you check it out first before actually posting?

Anyway, the same thing happened to my old KDS monitor. The fuse WASN'T blown. So I took a soldering gun and resoldered all power transistor leads to the board just to make sure there aren't any loose connections somewhere. It turned on and works 100% again.

If you know what you're doing troubleshooting like this is fine. If you don't, I strongly suggest you don't even THINK about opening up your monitor. The caps inside have enough voltage to severely shock you.

Don't be a wussy and just open the thing. Make sure it's been turned off for a couple of minutes first and unplugged.

Even unplugged the capacitors inside will retain their charge for a long period of time. The only safe way is to discharge the caps before working on the thing. To safely do that takes some knowledge. If you want to be stupid and go tearing into something with several kV floating around though, be my guest.
