Monitor problem

got this monitor cheap to start with so im not suprised it is failing nor am i worried about replacing it, i would just like to know for my own personal knowledge what is going on

when i turn on the monitor it sometimes will say no signal, and sometimes will turn on with all colored lines flickering all around the screen, and sometimes it will be bright white then flicker to black and etc.

if i turn the monitor off and on about 3-4 times it will appear with a perfect screen, it will run this way untill you turn it off again (or the computer enables standby at some point, in which if you try to move the mouse the colored lines and flickering begin all over again if the monitor has been off for longer then 5 minutes)

as for now the monitor works just fine if you leave it on, and it has been this way for about 2 years (owned it about 4-5yrs)

any ideas on whats happening?

OLED? I doubt even 1 out of 10,000 of us would have such monitors, so in all honesty, good luck trying to get tech support for such new, rare, and expensive technology. :Q
