Monitor problem...

...Well I have a NEC Multisync FE991sb 19'' crt monitor...and the top and and bottom borders of the picture are very compressed and bright...it cuts my picture down to like 16''...and sometimes black horizontal lines come across the monitor...what should I do?

The black horiz. lines that are about a few inches from the top and a few inches from the bottom are standard in CRT monitors. There's nothing you can do about them.

There are a couple of thin wires in the back that hold the screen in place.

no no, not those, i know about them they dont bother me. It really looks like distortion...what should I Do?
