I have a 17" CRT for about 5 years and whenever I turned the computer on, the monitor would come on automatically, and when I turned the computer off, the monitor would automatically shut off. About 2 months ago, I bought a Samsung 710N and I've noticed that it doesn't power on when the computer comes on or vice versa. This is the first LCD I've had, so I'm wondering if this is and LCD thing or if there's a setting somewhere that I don't know about? Thanks.

Well, I think it's in standby but the light on the front is blinking and it drives me crazy. Maybe that's just how it works but I can't just leave the light blinking. Little things like that just drive me absolutely crazy. If that how it works, maybe I'm just screwed and will have to turn it on and off every time I turn the computer on and off.

Agreed The Boston Dangler, sounds like a typical Windows "standby mode" situation.
I second your solution.
