Monitor power problem

Two mornings ago I woke up and my LCD monitor wouldn't come on.

I pressed the power button and it would turn green for maybe a second and go off. after a dozen attempts the green light stopped coming on.

I tried unplugging and replugging it in. As long as I totally disconnected the power the green light would come on once.

After about 10 mins it finally came on all day with no problems.

That night I turned it off again. When I woke up it was the same deal. After work i started checking it again. Only after an hour I decided it take it apart and inspect the inside (like I could fix it!!, but maybe). I checked for loose connections, intermittently checking the power. After another 20 mins or so it came on.

I used it fine for 4-5 hours with no problems and went to bed leaving it ON! I woke up this morning and its still running fine.

It seems that if its turned off it doesn't want to come back on. I don't know if I could reboot and it come back or if it only has trouble when its been several mins or hours.

If it was a loose connections and I fixed it, then great.. I'm researching a new monitor right now while its working. If it wasn't a loose connection, I assume its the power supply.

Either way any opinions or suggestion? I guess I'm hoping for an easy fix so I don't have to buy another monitor right now. I just went back to work after a month layoff and I don't exactly want to spend a few hundred if I don't have to. All my classes are online so this is a must have thing right now.

Thanks

Time for a new monitor. Sounds as if the internal powersupply in the monitor has burned out.
