Monitor picture drifting & shaking

The picture on my 3 year old Acer monitor is starting to drift & shake horizontally. Ruled out the video card with 2 different cards & it happens on all resolutions in Windows & even DOS. Changed out cable & still no luck. Hoping it's not the monitor but everything is pointing in that direction. Maybe the AGP slot on my motherboard? Any help from monitor experts would be appreciated.

Your monitor probably doesn't have horizontal Moire adjustment but that's what I'd play with. Did you at least try degaussing the monitor?

Another idea is to try using the monitor with no speakers nearby (magnets) and don't turn on the monitor after you turn your speakers on.

3 Years is pretty old though, I've had a monitor last me 4 years till the colors started to phase and the monitor would occasionally black out. You can get some nice 17" monitors for under $300.

I've use a Viewsonic and a Cornerstone at home, also like Sony and Samsung.
