monitor (PC?) keeps going in sleep mode

I have a new custom built PC with windows 10 pro. When I lock my machine by pressing ctrl + L , it goes to the main lock screen. After about a minute my monitor powers off (PC is on, i see the lights on) so I assume its my monitor and not pc?

While my PC is on (on the desktop), after about 30min? or so, same thing happens. I changed all the power settings in control panel so my PC does not sleep and that the monitor will not turn off until after 2 hrs. I even had that zero and nothing. I then reverted my settings back to default and changed again but same thing.

Then I thought maybe I had an energy app installed. I did install some apps that came with my motherboard (gigabyte) but I even uninstalled a few and same thing. I would say I am a pretty savy windows person but this has me stumped. I dont know what other settings can be doing this.
