Monitor OSD is gone?

Mag 19" 986FS, old faithfull (till now).
I went to change something and nothing, no OSD at all.
I played around and the functions are still there, I can still fiddle and find the width, etc, etc, but NO OSD!
Also, with vid cable unplugged, no more "check monitor cable" message.

I've never heard of a failure like this, but I'm pretty bummed out.
