Monitor or video card

Help!!! Ok here's the deal. I left the computer on over night woke up and now my monitor is all screwed up. There are gray lines all through the screen and it seems distorted somewhat. not as clear. Could this be my videocard? is there any help for it?

It sounds more like your monitor, but it can be any part of your computer.

Did you try restarting?

You should give us your system specifications.

Monitor model, video card model, cpu model, etc.

Have you rebooted yet? If you reboot and problem still exists, you could try reseating the vid card. Just a suggestion.

Yep restarted several times yesterday and then left it off over night...today is day 2!

I am not sure where to look for the specs on the videocard can you tell me?

Agreed. Try the monitor on a friend's PC or a friends monitor on your PC. Simple enough.

check the card, is it seated well?

i had a vid card die and it did just what you are talking about, i had to get a new one
