Want to get a nice "display" for my Xbone X and PS4(not Pro)

My original thought was a 4K computer monitor for the Xbone X, but it will look like shit @ 1080p once the PS4 goes in. So a TV then? But doesnt a TV have worse graphical fidelity compared to a monitor?

Decisions decisions.

Please let me know what would be best. And no, I am not getting two different screens.

I feel like TV's tend to scale better but that may only be because the audience/user is typically further away.

A monitor will certainly look crisper from closer up, but if you scale down a 4K display to 1080p with a console you're limited to whatever the PS4 has for video options. It will be different from simply running a PC game at 1080p because you have more options from your GPU in order to compensate.

Set your PS4 to 720p output, which integer-scales perfectly into 4K. ;)

LOL! J/K. That's the solution for retro games line-tripled to 720p from 240p.
