This is the wirdest pc-related thing that ever happened to me. My monitor (Viewsonic PF775) just became...weird. I left the computer to go to the kitchen. Upon my return, the image on the montitor was stretched horizontally with bright edges. I thoufht it was nothing. Then, i realized, that this was serious, and could not be corrected by cmonitor controls: the image on the sides was "compressed", while being stretched (all in horizontal plane) in the middle. Its like lookin at the sticker on the bottle. This happened at 1024x768 at 85 HZ. I switched to 100 hz, and it was almost fine. THe middle portion was normal, there were no bright edges, and the sides are just a little compressed. Its even better at the same resolution, but at 75 Hz - but its flickering. Can you tell me WHAT could have happened to my monitor? Nobody was home at the time, i have no pets, and i was in the kitchen, just a room away for 2 minutes. I wrote to Viewsonic a week and a half ago - no reply. I am frustrated - the monitor is "professional series" and is only 3 yrs old! I thought it was the fraphics card, but checking the monitor on the other computer proved me wrong.
ANy suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!
