Monitor may be dead, not sure.

So I was running memtest today, left to pick up my girlfriend, come back and monitor is black. I reboot and notice all the post info etc text is very huge, off the screen.

The monitor tries to boot into XP, but the picture is very dark and sort of balloons up real fast and then goes to black again. The monitor stays on if I go into bios, but the text is still off the screen and when I try to go into windows, same result as before. I tested another monitor to make sure it wasnt the vid card and it wasnt.


Anyone have any ideas? I have never lost a monitor before and I am guessing this could be the end.

Sounds like it to me. Check the pins if it's CRT, maybe you lost a few.

EDIT: I did not post this to encouage you to open up your CRT. Even unplug for a very long time(over a year)they can store voltages that can prove fatal. I posted it for knowledge of causes.
