Monitor light issue with laptop

Whenever I used to unplug my laptop from the powersupply and switch to battery, the light would automatically "dim" to save power. However, now when I plug it back into the powersupply, the light stays dim and does not go back to normal. Anyone know how to fix this? Or what the problem is? The laptop I have is a zv5000t. Thanks.

Somewhere there might be OEM software that controls battery usage. There was in my IBM X40. Unfortunately this is a little vague, but there is a good chance that software like that exists, either online (drivers) or is already on your computer. That's my first suggestion anyway.
