I'd go for the LG and it's wider viewing angles...

LG = 170°(H) / 170°(V) (angles listed at Newegg)
HP = 160°(H) / 160°(V) (found angles from a review)

Ok but what about the image quality? Do you know which one would look better for gaming?

The higher viewing angle generally indicates better quality screen type.
For "gaming" performance, go Googling for reviews on both specific models.

Probably going to go with the LG (better spec and the warranty LG is 3 years vs 1 for HP). Thank you for the help

Go down to BB or CC or other stores and look at them. TYhey often have them both on and you can see for yourself.

Aside from that - the specs favor LG. Especially Response time - 2 ms vs 5 ms.

I just came back from Futureshop and they had them side by side and the LG IQ looked better, but they were out of stock. Im gonna have to look for another FS
