Hello. My monitor completely stopped working when I turned on my PC the other day. Even the power light was off. So I stopped using it for a while. Yesterday, I try to plug it in into a power source, and it turns on. So it's sitting in stand by, and I plug it in along with my other monitor. I use the working monitor to detect additional monitors, and lo and behold, it detects it. I switch to my Flatron and black screen again, plus the red power light turns off again.
I give up trying to pair it with my R9 280x, and just try plugging it into a power source again. This time, it stops showing any signs of life, just like the first time.

It seems dead alright, but I thought I'd ask around still. I also tried the ac in power cord on a TV and it totally worked, so the problem doesn't seem to be on its end.

Sorry if wrong section.

it is probably a blown capacitor if it isn't under warranty i would take it apart and fix it. But be careful caps can still hold a voltage for a while after they are unplugged. Its also easy to spot a bad cap most of the time. Some of the signs are, if the cap is bulged or if you can see, liquid leaking out of it. Even then if their are no visible signs of damage a cap can still be bad. You can test it with a capacitor tester.
