Well I just got a dell 8400 with all the trimmings, was reformatting and installing a clean xp pro and setting up a ghost image.
I was almost done configuring and installing all my applications but recently hit a snag I dont understand.... It happened when I was installing Adobe Creative Suite....
The application stopped responding and I had to end the task, I dont know if this was before or after the install.
I put an ATI X700 Pro in the PCI-E slot and the machine was working perfectly.
I have tried uninstalling Adobe CS, but it wont let me remove some of the stuff, it tells me to remove a certain component first even tho that is what Im trying to get rid of. I dont know how to uninstall it.
I think it has something to do with the aborted install and maybe Adobe was making soem display changes.
The reason I aborted the install first was that the machine starting flickering on the monitor.
The monitor loses signal randomly every 30-90 seconds, like the machine is going to sleep. The after about 20 seconds it comes back on. I have tried restarting tried removing other stuff etc, Ive spent all day building my image and would hate to have to go back and do it all again.
Sometimes it loses signal after like 5 minutes then doesnt do it again for a few minutes, other times it goes in and out over like 60 seconds. Its very random the frequency and the duration over which it disappears.
Also have a side question, I have the X700 Pro installed with the latest Omega drivers, I wanted to overclock the card, but through radlinker all it lists is core and memory, but both speeds read at 0.0 Mhz. Which is very weird. How do I overclock this card? Or why doesnt radlinker pick it up?
Thanks!
