Hey guys. Well i'm buying a monitor soon, but I won't discuss that. I am waiting til I have a job but my current monitor is a Gateway 2000 CrystalScan 700 (17" CRT from 1997) and when I would double click on things in windows or linux, a color comes up. It is only red and blue I think...and it pops up seemingly only when I am opening up an application or something. I don't know if it occurs when changing resolutions but I know that, as of the past 6 months, it has been making a noise as it changes to a different resolution or even just a different refresh rate. It is a click of some kind. Is this slight coloring (only on the center of the screen...and it pops up for 1 second) a sign of convergence issues and does it seem like this monitor is finally dying?
Either way, I think it is good that I am replacing it soon
